Les Rolling Stones ont annoncé la réédition de leur classique «The Rock And Roll Circus».

Réalisé par Michael Lindsay-Hogg, le spectacle enregistré en public en 1968, avait été à l’origine diffusé pour la BBC.

Le film Rock and Roll Circus dont la sortie est prévue pour le 7 aux États-Unis et le 28 juin au Royaume-Uni, a été restauré au format 4K Dolby Vision sur Blu-ray et DVD. La bande-son a également été remixée et agrémenter de 9 titres supplémentaires soit 28 morceaux qui sortiront sur double CD et trois vinyles.

A l’affiche de l’émission, on notait la participation de The Who, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull, Yoko Ono, ainsi que du “super groupe” The Dirty Mac-composé d’Eric Clapton, de Keith Richards, de Mitch Mitchell et de John Lennon. Les titres inédits du collectif seront disponibles pour la première fois dans cette nouvelle version.

Le disque comprend également des enregistrements du pianiste Julius Katchen, trois chansons de Taj Mahal et des enregistrements inédits de The Dirty Mac, interprétant notamment “Revolution” des Beatles.
