Une nouvelle compilation d’archives de Neil Young intitulée Songs for Judy, mettant en vedette des performances acoustiques de sa tournée solo de 1976, paraîtra sur CD et sera numérisée le 30 novembre. Une version vinyle suivra le 14 décembre.
L’album comprend 22 chansons tirées de 11 concerts différents, notamment à New York, Boston, Atlanta et Chicago. Les performances ont été enregistrées sur cassette par le photographe et archiviste de longue date de Neil Young, Joel Bernstein.
L’album a été supervisé par Bernstein et le journaliste rock et réalisateur Cameron Crowe.
Le titre Songs for Judy est tiré d’un monologue que Neil Young a donné lors d’un concert à Atlanta au cours duquel il pense à Judy Garland et au magicien d’Oz.
