Gorillaz a annoncé la sortie de son neuvième album studio, The Mountain, le 20 mars 2026 sur son propre label KONG.
Une nouvelle fois, la liste d’invités est impressionnante sur ce nouvel opus du projet de Damon Albarn. Outre les frères Mael de Sparks, figurent aussi le rappeur Black Thought, l’ancien bassiste des Clash Paul Simonon, Johnny Marr (The Smiths), ou encore la virtuose du sitar Anoushka Shankar. L’album rend également hommage à des collaborateurs disparus comme Bobby Womack, Dave Jolicoeur (De La Soul), Mark E. Smith (The Fall) ou encore Tony Allen, légende de l’afrobeat.
Un nouvel extrait, The Manifesto, enregistré en collaboration avec le rappeur argentin Trueno et le regretté Proof de Detroit, est à découvrir ci-dessous:
