Ben Gibbard, le chanteur de Death Cab for Cutie a annoncé la sortie d’un album hommage à Yoko Ono, avec notamment David Byrne, Yo La Tengo et les Flaming Lips.
Le mois prochain marquera le 89e anniversaire de Yoko Ono, et Ben Gibbard le célébrera avec un album, Ocean Child: Songs of Yoko On, qui sortira le 18 février.
David Byrne et Yo La Tengo ont offert un avant-goût du projet avec une reprise de « Who Has Seen the Wind ? » de Yoko Ono, qui était à l’origine la face B de « Instant Karma ! » de John Lennon.
Ocean Child: Songs of Yoko Ono comprend notamment des reprises interprétées par Sharon Van Etten (« Toyboat« ), The Flaming Lips (« Mrs. Lennon« ) et Japanese Breakfast (« No One Sees Me Like You Do« ).
