Formé par le compositeur et guitariste Stuart Moxham, son frère et bassiste Philip et la chanteuse Alison Statton, les Young Marble Giants ont surgi du paysage punk et post-punk avec un son qui ne ressemblait à aucun autre.
Enregistré en cinq jours, Colossal Youth a influencé des millers de groupes de Sheffield à Seattle. Parmi les plus grands fans du groupe, on retrouve Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, Belle & Sebastian, David Byrne, Sonic Youth ou encore The Magnetic Fields.
Aujourd’hui, Young Marble Giants annonce une réédition deluxe pour les 40 ans de son album ‘Colossal Youth‘.
Le 27 novembre, Domino Records publiera une édition spéciale de l’album. La réédition comprendra l’album original publié en 1980 avec un LP supplémentaire composé de morceaux de ‘Salad Days’ et de ‘Is The War Over’, le single « Final Day » et l’EP ‘Testcard’.
Une édition deluxe comprendra aussi un DVD live du tout dernier concert du trio enregistré en 1980 au Hurrah à New York
