Chrysalis a annoncé la sortie d’un coffret baptisé Sound of The Colourfield.

La brève carrière discographique de The Colourfield (1984–1987) sera célébrée à travers un coffret deluxe 5 CD + DVD.

Le groupe, mené par Terry Hall, comptait parmi ses membres le guitariste et organiste Toby Lyons (ancien membre des Swinging Cats) ainsi que le bassiste Karl Shale, issu du groupe de Coventry, Zanders System.

The Colourfield a sorti deux albums studio : Virgin and Philistines (1985), qui contenait le tube « Thinking of You », et Deception (1987), un opus marqué par l’arrivée du batteur Gary Dwyer.

Le coffret deluxe comprendra ces deux albums, ainsi que trois CD bonus réunissant des raretés : faces B, remixes, enregistrements de concerts, et un disque entier de démos et de prises alternatives inédites. L’ensemble totalise 96 titres, dont 42 inédits. L’audio a été remasterisé à partir des bandes originales.

Le DVD regroupera toutes les vidéos promotionnelles du groupe, ainsi que leurs prestations télévisées pour la BBC.

Sound of The Colourfield sortira le 27 février 2026.
